The planned move of the Guild Wars live database for Tuesday, August 10th, has been postponed to Wednesday August 11th, 2010. This was done to ensure that the process meets our high standards for quality.

Can I ask what you're trying to point, 250ms is pretty standard for me, but I'm not near you.
Or the IP?

What'll be the post-effects in-game be? How will moving the GW live database affect game play?

American servers used to have an IP range beginning in 216.

And I always wondered why GW economy sucked ... here is the answer. Get a life guys, you don't get paid for farming items all day. Seriously, just do that, so those playing on a more relaxed schedule can enjoy the game without being forced to grind in the PvE.
This game was supposed to be skill > time, but as I see it time+'friendlist' is still more important than own skill ...

I swear games were supposed to be enjoyable. Am I wrong in choosing to do things in the game that I actually enjoy?

Sadly, in MMO worlds one person's enjoyment is other person's misery. What you do impacts other people in a global way, you don't have to be nasty on purpose in order to change the way other people have to play if they are to enjoy the game. That is the primary reason why 'niche' games with dedicated, highly customized gameplay have integrated community and a set of shared values, while 'Wallstreet' MMOs such as WoW or GW are the exact opposite. You go mainstream? Fine, but you will have to deal with mainstream problems, both as a player and as a developer.
